Restaurante "Pepe Dígame?" — Restaurant in Almuñécar

Avoid at all costs! Our group of three waited for about 30 minutes for a waiter to deign to visit our table to take our evening meal order. We ordered starters for two and tried to order main courses for three but the waiter simply cut across us and told us we must order the same main dish for the whole table, which we did. The garlic prawn starters arrived after only 40 minutes and consisted of some prawns sitting in a sauce containing all of the garlic grown in Spain that year. The two people who ate them felt sick for the rest of the evening. Then a main course arrived after only another 45 minute wait. I say "a main course" because the waiter delivered a single main course for one person, no main course was delivered to the two people who had the starters. Probably a good thing because it consisted of a slab of undercooked salmon, some barely cooked potatoes and some lukewarm vegetables sitting in oil, for EUR16 a plate. The waiters are uninterested in providing any quality of service and spend their time slavering over people who are ordering huge quantities of wine. Save your time and money and...

I swear down if this is the first taste of Spain you ever take, it will be your last.

Aside from the service, attentive but bad and less than clean terrace. Wrong bill, miss print of prices, receipt dropped on the table to an outstretched hand. The food and how bad it is what takes centre stage.

Octopus served on cabbage less warm than the stones on the beach, on the sea break, then the fries arrived. Kebab shop chips would be haute cuisine in comparison. I felt sorry for the octopus. To be served in such a manner I'd rather it was free in the sea.

I can say that beer and other bottled products or ice cream by all means, treat yourself!

I believe this is my only 1* review. But all I can say is the company and the view was the only thing worthwhile. If you have good company, your half way there. Surely you guys can do better. Have some pride in what should be an amazing place. 3 beers, main with side 32 Euro....

No soy muy dado a escribir este tipo de reseñas pero dado que gasté unos 130 euros, ganados con mucho esfuerzo, para comer allí con mi familia, voy a dar mi opinión por si puedo ayudar a alguien que quiera ir allí o al local para mejorar:

El local es muy agradable, había buena temperatura, está reformado y tiene vistas al mar.

En cuanto al servicio es insuficiente y torpe, este lugar necesita más camareros o que los que hay, no cometan tantos errores. entendible en esta época del año y un dia festivo, así que por ese lado, supongo que esto es una queja generalizada a todos los lugares de este tipo.

Lo que si que no creo que sea generalizado es la calidad de los platos. Pedimos bebida, un botella de vino y varias raciones para compartir. Estas raciones, aunque no todas son malas, si que adolecen de ser engañosas en cuanto a la cantidad para el precio que tienen. Lo peor fue una ración de rosada, la cuál constaba de máximo 4 tajadas de rosada y el resto del plato constaba únicamente de patatas fritas y ensalada. Súbanle el precio al plato pero no me pongan algo que no he pedido en lugar de la rosada.

Siguiendo con el tema de las cantidades se le sumó una ración de ensalada totalmente risible.

Lo mismo sucedió con una ración de migas que pedimos, la camarera, amablemente nos trajo otro plato de migas pero, sinceramente, ¿tan cara está la harina?

Por otro lado, las sardinas que venían con las migas, algunas de ellas no estaban bien cocinadas y tenían sangre en la parte superior del lomo. Una pena. Yo recuerdo haber comido buenos espetos de sardina en este mismo local hace años.

Por último, lo peor fue una ración de chopitos que no tenían pinta de estar frescos y que a mi hermana le sentaron mal incluso.

En definitiva, la comida, francamente mejorable. Recomiendo encarecidamente optar por pedir reserva con tiempo e ir al cortijillo, el local de en frente. No está justo en la playa pero la comida es mucho mejor.

Espero que esta reseña sirva al local para mejorar el producto que ofrecen y no se resignen a ofrecer cualquier cosa a los incautos que pasen por allí...
